Excelent stuff, a lot to think about.
Good luck!!!
I too have my work xmas do tonight, its all good tho because I’m off to a freeparty in sheffield later on, not enough time to get too pissed before I leave! :bounce_m:
And shes going to jump again!
Some people can hold a higher static electric charge – most people have a friend whos always complaining the doorbell electricutes them? Its because the static electricity built up in them can bridge the gap through the button to the electrics inside. Well that same electrical charge can get transferred to any electrical equipment you use, messing with capacitors etc. This is why after a while things stop working.
Theres a couple of ways of avoiding/minimising damage:
– Before you use any electrical kit, touch your radiator for a moment, its grounded so it will release any built-up charge.
– Use remote controls as much as possible!Peru and the Andes is my dream location! Bet it was superb *Jelous*
Change of plan!!!!! I’m off to see Pendulum at the Mint club in Leeds tonight. As if this was happening and I almost missed it!
*dances*
No parties for me – my bodies telling me to go easy for a bit
I’ll be off up Ilkley for the day tomorrow though, head up over the moors and finish up in the Cow&Calf pub 😀 Then theres a local comedy night on so I’ll probably check that out.
Have fun on the dancefloor(s) people!
I actually feel physically sick. In fact, I’m so riled, I can’t think of anything constructive to say….
Fair enough – that does indeed suck, I’ll be spending New Years day recovering :bounce_ci
I only get xmas day, boxing day, new years eve and day off 🙁 Sucky
Found a psy-trance party fairly near home (only 1 1/2hrs travel) to boogie into the new year at 😀
I had a mental weekend – went to the Aspire squat party in Leeds. It was belting, Desert Storm did the Techno downstairs (although wasn’t one of their best sets), and there were another 3 rooms playing various different stuff.
Wicked swing band on the Friday night, great people etc what else can you ask for?
Its just good fun being a parrot:
You can fly, which is nice
You can talk – useful when you need to buy some birdfood
You get pretty colours
You can live in the rainforrest! Then again, there is birdflu….
I second funny cat with a similar sarcastic comment!
Firstly I don’t know much about bikes, and therefore bikeshops, but I know that shopping online is like anything else – you get what you pay for.
I buy quite a lot of computer gear, most of which could be bought for a very good price from http://www.ebuyer.co.uk. But the service is crap. CRAP. I get all my stuff from http://www.kustompcs.co.uk, a small scottish company. I pay a little extra for each order, but in return get outstanding service and the knowledge that I’m giving my money to a local firm (even if its not local to me!)
I would have a look round the net for an online shop which obviously cares about its customers – look for details about their premises, a forum, a telephone number.
Hope that helps
November 9, 2005 at 9:19 am in reply to: UK : LDN(S) : CJA powers used after fight at *licensed* club #1067661TBH I can see why this was done – this wasn’t just a fight, there was serious damage being done to a number of people.
Violence. I just don’t get it.
I couldn’t loose my guitars or my pets. Those two things keep me sane when nothing else can.
September 2, 2005 at 3:26 pm in reply to: UK : if you thought legal events were safer…. think again… #1066896I can understand the arguments with larger events that there has to be better security – a larger event will attract more people who want nothing more than to cause a problem for others. But they do not follow it up. There was sod all security in the campsite at Leeds this year, they just left us to get on with it. Unfortunately thats what you get when you build a social event on capitalism – security costs money so you will obviously get as little as possible.
Hey man, welcome!
Not sure about paid parties in Manchester, only ones I know of are Sunrise and Megadog. Been to Sunrise once and it was ace 🙂
If you’re willing to travel a bit theres loads of decent clubs around, and plenty of parties around the Leeds area.
July 27, 2005 at 8:30 am in reply to: UK : Thames Valley : macho gun culture leads to a pointless loss of life… #1066549This is happening far too often. Maybe I’m just a soppy hippie, but is it really that hard to get along people in a society as “free” as ours?

My step-dad had an African Grey a few years back, and its favourite trick was mimicing the whistle my mum used to call the dog. He’d then sit in the cage and giggle as the dog went mental running round the room, looking for mummy!

Thats beautiful man…
Likewise – my thoughts are with all those affected by this disaster – both the victims and those close to them.
I’m also thinking of those who will die during our retaliation.
You can get glosticks from Poundland. They have a loop on one end so you can tie cord to them.
Silverfox: Do you ever go to sunrise? (Noticed you’re from Manchester) I’ve only been once, but there were a couple of people doing poi who were pretty good. (I juggle – poi is impossible)
